Inspection and testing of electrical installations is carried out for a number of reasons however, one paramount reason is to ensure the safety of people, property and animals. Many insurance companies are now insisting that inspection and testing is conducted on fixed wiring installations in accordance with the recommendations laid down in BS7671:2008 and Guidance Note 3. Sometimes this is not highlighted when you take out a policy and only becomes apparent when a claim is made following an electrical incident.
A high proportion of building fires in the UK are caused by electrical faults in the fixed wiring or appliances plugged in to it. We cover both aspects of this either by conducting periodic inspections for fixed installations and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and inspection for connected appliances.
It may be necessary to have property and premises inspected and/or tested for:
  • Insurance purposes
  • Change of use
  • Change of tenant (landlords legal requirement)
  • Expiry of previous inspection
  • Peace of mind
  • Purchasing a property
All of our inspections and testing is conducted round your schedule, and we can arrange for this to be done out of hours*. On completion we compile a full report with a site overview letter for your records.

Large site? We offer competitive volume pricing for multiple reports e.g. caravan parks, holiday lets, hotels etc.

*Out of hours may incur additional costs

Normally during the closed season we are able to undertake inspection and testing of static caravan fleets with minimal disruption. The recommended interval for inspection and testing is every 3-5 years, however this should be more frequent for caravans that are rented on a regular basis or for parks located closed to the harsh marine environment.

Static pitch hook-ups are required to be tested annually, please book early as we are normally very busy in the lead up to the Easter weekend when most sites open fully.

Some sites  may require motor homes and mobile caravans to produce an in-date Periodic Inspection Report prior to being allowed access to site power supplies. A full periodic inspection starts from £125 dependant on the size of the van and number of circuits.

Shore power aboard yachts and motor boats is usually never given a second thought, however we are well placed to conduct work and provide inspection reports on the condition of the installation. Repairs and installation work are carried out using marine grade cable (not domestic) due to the additional stresses of the moving vessel and the marine environment. Again our survey and testing can be conducted as part of a purchase survey.
Portable Appliance testing is carried out annually for the majority of electrical items, with low risk items such as computers extended to 2-4 years. All items are comprehensively inspected, inc wire termination & fuses prior to instrumented testing. All test results are stored electronically and passed on in report format, providing peace of mind that the equipment is safe for continued use.

Our prices start at £29.99 including 1st 10 items. Other pricing available on request.
